ARNOLD SPORTS FESTIVAL MMA CHAMPIONSHIPS AND OCEANIA IMMAF OPEN

In July 2016 IMMAFA sent the first Australian team to the World Championships of Amateur Mixed Martial Arts. This event was held over five days at Fight Week in Las Vegas and brought together hundreds of competitors from nearly fifty nations. This year was even larger with more countries and competitors seeing Bahrain the event country bustling with MMA activity in November.

Next year there are two events that qualify athletes for participation at the Worlds, the first of these events is the Arnold Sports Festival MMA Australian Championships held in Melbourne in March and the second event that contributes to the ranking process is the Oceania Continental Open held at the same time in March.

Priority for registration to the Oceania Open and qualification for the National Team will be given to athletes who competed at the World Championships in Bahrain, Asian Open this year or based on performances in the Arnold Sports Festival MMA Championships.

In 2018 we have 4 primary categories of MMA entry:

  1. Junior Modified MMA rules Competition
  2. Cadet Modified MMA rules Competition
  3. Senior Modified MMA rules Competition
  4. Senior Australian Points Qualifying Competition
  5. Oceania International Open Competition – Athlete
  6. Oceania International Open Competition – Official/ Team Member

Junior Modified MMA Competition or Exhibition – U15

For the first time, IMMAFA will conduct a modified rules competition for junior age groups (U14, U12, U10).  This competition supports the development of our MMA grass roots program and will be a great opportunity for up and coming Australian talent to test themselves on an Australian stage and in front of the worlds best.  Depending on registrations, the junior event will comprise a limited competition or exhibition bouts which will be covered by FightLife.  Registration includes fighter only entry into the festival and a discounted annual compulsory membership to IMMAFA which registers results for world wide ranking.

Cadet Modified MMA Competition or Exhibition – U18

IMMAFA will conduct a modified rules competition for cadet age groups – U18, U16.  This competition establishes a forum for Australian selectors to see the current up and coming talent and identify pathways for certain athletes to mature into the senior league.   Depending on registrations, this cadet event will follow a competition format. Registration includes fighter only entry into the festival and annual compulsory membership to IMMAFA which registers results for world wide ranking.

Senior Modified MMA Competition or Exhibition – 18+

IMMAFA will conduct a modified rules competition for adult competitors.  This competition establishes a forum for Australian selectors to see the current up and coming talent and identify pathways for certain athletes to break into the national team.   Depending on registrations, this event will follow a competition format. Registration includes fighter only entry into the festival and annual compulsory membership to IMMAFA which registers results for world wide ranking.

IMMAFA Senior Qualifying Competition Australian Championships – 18+

For the 3rd year we will conduct our main Australian team qualifying competition.  For those who have not participated, fighters from all states meet to test their medal and gain valuable ranking points for Australian selection.  If you want to compete on a global stage, these points and the subsequent ranking is the primary mechanism.  Registration includes fighter only entry into the festival and annual compulsory membership to IMMAFA which registers results for world wide ranking.

IMMAF Oceania International Open Competition – By Invitation

For the first time, the IMMAF will run its Oceania International Open Competition in Australia.  We expect the best amateur fighters from more than 14 member countries including USA, Japan, China and Sweden.  This event will be the biggest international MMA competition ever experienced in Australia and what better place than Australia’s sporting capital Melbourne.  Entry’s in this event will be by invitation only so please inquire if you think you might be eligible but have not been invited.

ARNOLD CLASSIC COMPETITOR INFORMATION

To submit nomination details and make payment for the Arnold Sports Festival in Melbourne between the 16th to 18th of March 2018, please select a category and make payment.

In addition to Payment and the Registration Form below, Athletes will need to submit BOTH Blood and Annual Medical Forms.

PAYMENT AND REGO – IMPORTANT PROCESS – PLEASE READ CAREFULLY

Once PayPal payment is made, follow the PayPal prompt on the final PayPal screen and click return to the IMMAFA site to finalise the Submission.  Please complete this process for every individual, multiple Submissions can not be made due to information gathering requirements.  Once we verify the submission, the IMMAFA team will contact you and confirm registration in the event.  The verification process can take between 1 and 5 days if you are new to IMMAFA.

Note the Submission details online form will only be available once payment has been received in PayPal.  Please contact the event coordinator via the following LINK if you have been unable to complete the submission details form after your payment and a manual process will be instigated.
